Presentations Special thanks to the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut for sponsoring this event. Workplace Pandemic Planning Since its initial outbreak, the H1N1 virus fortunately appears to be moderate, however, the World Health Organization recently raised the threat to the pandemic level based on the spread of the virus globally. Its status continues to be monitored by business in order to keep their employees informed, and to make recommendations on such things as international business meeting plans and travel. Connecticut's Health Care Challenges & Choices Panel Presentations, Feb 2008 Care providers, insurers, employers and employees each play a role in the complex health care universe. Experts from The Business Council’s Health Care Leadership Council representing those sectors analyzed the situation from a business perspective and identified the issues most likely to be addressed by the Legislature. A moderated dialogue among attendees followed the panel discussion. Business Council Releases Updated CT Health Scorecard, Dec 2007 Scorecard measures 26 indicators of Connecticut's health and offers a set of action recommendations. Highlights areas where CT excels, and where CT lags in personal behaviors, risk factors and health policies that threaten to undermine the health of CT's residents and workforce. |

One Coast, One Future Health Care Reports, 2006-2008 Health Care is one of eight key objectives of the One Coast, One Future economic integration initiative's long-term plan. The
2007 Health Care Industry Cluster was built upon the recommendations of
the 2006 Cluster Study (see below). After an RFP selection process in the Summer of 2007, the
consulting firm of Holt, Wexler & Farnham was chosen to further develop
two critical components of the health care industry - health care workforce
