The Business Council’s iTalent Initiative is improving the supply and placement of technical and digital talent available in Fairfield County, a region of 23 municipalities, 940,000 people and no regional government. It was developed over 18 months by 20 large and small growth companies, 5 colleges and universities, 2 training organizations, 5 co-working spaces, state and city economic development leaders, and the CT Department of Labor.
The mission of the iTalent initiative is to strengthen and elevate awareness of our tech community, improving retention within the region as careers progress. Longer term, we also will expand and diversify our tech talent pool by expanding student access to post-secondary education and integrating the tech employer and educator communities in ongoing processes of real time needs identification, curriculum evolution, joint development of pre-employment learning opportunities, and post-employment civic engagement and professional development.
