The Business Council of Fairfield County Announces Election of New Board of Directors Members

Stamford, Connecticut; May 19, 2009 -- The Business Council of Fairfield County has announced the election of three new members to its Board of Directors.

The Business Council of Fairfield County is pleased to welcome Pamela K. Elkow, Managing Partner, Robinson & Cole’s Stamford and New York offices; Eric Kutcher, Managing Partner-Stamford Office, McKinsey & Company and John H. Stewart, President & Chief Executive Officer, Purdue Pharma L.P.

Pamela K. Elkow, Managing Partner of Robinson & Cole's Stamford and New York Offices, is a member of the law firm’s Environmental and Utilities Group, and co-chairs the Sustainability and Climate Change Group. Ms. Elkow focuses her environmental practice on Brownfields; transactional environmental issues; compliance counseling; federal, state, and municipal permitting; and federal and state enforcement. She also works with clients on occupational health and safety issues. Her clients include major corporations, municipalities, and other governmental entities. Ms. Elkow lectures and writes on a wide variety of environmental issues to diverse audiences. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s section on environment, energy, and resources and is a vice chair of its Environmental Transactions and Brownfields Committee. Ms. Elkow resides in Redding, CT.

Eric Kutcher is Managing Partner for the Stamford Office at McKinsey & Company. He has been with the Firm for nearly 12 years and is the Global Leader of McKinsey’s High-Tech Enterprise Computing Sector and a core member of both the Strategy and the Sales & Marketing Practices. Eric has a long history in the area where he led a piece of work for the City of Stamford in 2001 to evaluate the impact of the last downturn on the not-for-profit community as well as having served on the Domus Foundation Board. Prior to McKinsey, Eric was a Process Engineer at Intel. He has both a B.S. in Material Science & Engineering and a Masters in Financial Engineering and Operations Research from Cornell University. Mr. Kutcher currently resides in Milford, CT with his wife and two children.

John H. Stewart joined Purdue Pharma’s U.S. organization in 2007 as President & Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he had spent 33 years with Purdue Pharma Canada, most recently serving as President & CEO of the Ontario-based organization. He began his career as a sales representative, and subsequently held positions of direct responsibility for the areas of business development, clinical research, product development, regulatory affairs, and sales.

During his tenure in Canada, Mr. Stewart played an active role in Rx&D, the association representing Canada’s research-based pharmaceutical companies. He was Past-Chair of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and chaired its Patented Medicine Prices Review Board, Health Canada, and National Political Action Plan committee. Mr. Stewart has also represented the pharmaceutical industry on Canada’s National Advisory Council on Pharmaceutical Research, the Government of Canada Treasury Board’s Advisory Group on Cost Recovery/User Fees, and the Advisory Committee to the Ontario Drug Programs Reform Secretariat. Mr. Stewart resides in Stamford, CT.
