Business Council Publishes Guide on Available Housing for Summer InternsYet, as one of the more expensive housing markets in the country, it is not often easy for summer interns to find a place to live on a temporary basis.
In an attempt to match the needs of area employers and interns, The Business Council of Fairfield County has just released its second annual listing of available housing for summer interns.
“The information highlighting housing options for summer interns is a great resource for both companies and interns seeking accommodations," said Brett A Sakowicz, Human Resources Administrator with Blum Shapiro. “An internship can be an exciting, yet overwhelming experience for a student; providing housing information to our interns is one less component they have to worry about.”
With over 250 rooms available, the 2009 Available Housing for Summer Interns Guide contains contact information for campus housing at Sacred Heart University as well as housing opportunities at the University of Bridgeport.
“The Available Housing for Summer Interns Guide is very helpful for both interns and companies,” commented Paula D. Quenoy, Director of Career Services at the University of Bridgeport. “They appreciate having rate and contact information from all of the colleges available in one place. It definitely makes it easier for an intern to locate housing in the area.”
The data was provided by the Internship Stakeholders Council, a regional network of business and academic representatives established in 2007 by the Business Council to share perspectives on the regional internship environment. The Internship Stakeholders Council is part of the One Coast, One Future project that seeks to stimulate economic growth, job creation and individual economic opportunity by linking the Coastal Fairfield County region’s business centers in an alliance for mutual benefit.
