Connecticut Regional Institute for the 21st Century: A public-private coalition of state, regional and local leaders. The Business Council is a co-founder and member of steering committee.

Governor’s Council for Economic Competitiveness and Technology: A public-private coalition of leaders, appointed by the Governor. Business Council directors & staff are active members.

Southwest Corridor Action Council: Oversight body for five-year plan enacted by General Assembly 5/98. Chaired by Business Council CEO Chris Bruhl. Staffed by CT DOT.

Coastal Corridor Coalition: 19 member organization leading public input and advocacy on corridor congestion reduction strategies. Currently chaired by The Business Council; staffed by the Regional Plan Association.

MetroPool: Ridesharing brokerage serving southern N.Y. and southwestern Connecticut. State-funded, private provider of commutation information and planning services to employers and commuters. Founded by The Business Council in 1980.

CT Rail Commuter Council: “User group” of train commuters, with statutory feedback role. Business Council V.P. Joe McGee serves as member. Staffed by MetroNorth & CT DOT.

MetroChambers Deduct-A-Ride Consortium: Eight largest regional business associations in state are delivering coordinated information services on new federal commuter tax benefit program. MetroPool is the presenter. Group conceived and recruited by The Business Council.
