Who We Are
The Young Professionals
Network (YPN), a member initiative of the Business Council of Fairfield
County, is a peer-based organization of professionals, aged 24 to 39, who work
and/or live in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Our events bring together
invited individuals from all kinds of companies located throughout Fairfield
County. Every event includes a learning experience and social networking.
Mission
To create a platform that provides young
professionals in Fairfield County with positive opportunities upon which to
build professional networks, social relationships and engage in volunteer
activities that enrich and improve the economic vitality and quality of life
of their community.
Purpose
To enrich the community by providing business,
networking and volunteer opportunities to support the career development and
personal choices of young professionals, and to promote the qualities that
make Fairfield County an attractive place for young professionals to live,
work and put down roots.
Organizational Structure
While in its start-up phase, YPN will be led by
a core group of volunteers serving on two Steering Committees - Action and
Events.
>> The
Action Committee will be charged with the task
of fulfilling the objectives of the organization, including developing a
marketing and recruitment strategy.
>>
The Events Committee will be responsible for
organizing, staffing and marketing of YPN events. The Business Council
provides staff support to the core Steering Committees.
