Courses will help suppliers understand the information that buyers are seeking in the areas of financial disclosure, manufacturing and operational capabilities and business strategy and performance.
Supplier Development Academy Courses
Demonstrating Financial Preparedness and Success
– This 4 hour course combines both lecture and workshop materials and is being delivered in collaboration with the CT Small Business Development Center
. Attendees will learn what financial data buyers are seeking, how best to present the data and how to benchmark your financials against your competition. Attendees will have the chance to prepare a financial disclosure package that meets Supplier Connection standards and then earn a badge that will be displayed on their Supplier Connection profile.
Marketing and Business Development: How to incorporate Supplier Connection into a business development strategy
– This 30 min webinar delivered course will help Supplier Connection register suppliers better understand how buyers view and use Supplier Connection to help search for and source new small and diverse suppliers. They will also gain first-hand knowledge of how to improve their supplier profile on Supplier Connection and how to link this presence with their other business development activities to more easily gain attention from prospective buyers. Best practices will be reviewed and other assistance provided through interviews with buyers and other marketing experts. View webinar
Communicating Manufacturing and Operational Excellence
– This course has been developed by NIST and IBM, focused on helping Supplier Connection suppliers better communicate their manufacturing and operations metrics and approach to prospective buyers. The 4hour lecture and workshop format will help suppliers bring together disparate data and plans into a cohesive and powerful briefing package that will help set suppliers apart from their competition. The course will be delivered in collaboration with ConnStep and seCTer organizations. Successful completion will earn suppliers a badge that will appear and differentiate the supplier on their Supplier Connection Supplier Profile.
